Big Japanese Support
You\'ve no doubt heard that bumbling fool Matt Casamassina talk about Namco support for Nintendo\'s GCN console. The truth is that anonymous insiders claim to have actually seen a version of Tekken Tag Tournament running on Nintendo\'s hardware months ago, but for reasons unknown Namco decided not to show it at E3. Now, though, I\'ve heard that versions of bigger, more recent fighters could be on the way for GameCube -- namely Tekken 4 and Soul Calibur 2. No big surprise, really, but good news all the same. Perhaps we\'ll even see a Ridge Racer game arrive from an outsourced team. Wink. Wink.

The Japanese support won\'t stop with Namco, though. Companies just as big will unveil some unexpected goodies for your favorite Nintendo console at the coming Space World show in Tokyo, Japan. I am unfortunately forbidden to say whom, but you will definitely be happy. And the sheer number of titles still being kept from you will be a surprise.

I really don\'t care to speculate on what developers and games we\'ve yet to see - there\'s not enough info to go on - but you have to admit it sounds promising.  If we find out all this stuff at the August Space World, then that will serve to only increase the pre-launch hype...  We\'ll see.

I completely forgot.  Spaceworld is on the same day as the first day of school for me.
It seems as if the people [casual gamers] that we consider to know absolutely nothing are the ones that actually know the most important thing: Name brands don\'t make the console, games do.

I\'m skeptical if we will see Tekken 4 on the GC. The Tekken series has remained on the PS systems and I think it will continue to. Not to mention, it was designed on essentially a PS2 board for they could port it to the home easier.

I would go with your speculation if Soul Caliber for DC didn\'t exist.  As I am aware, they didn\'t even port the game directly to the PSX, and opted to upgrade the graphics and made it a DC exclusive.  Am I right?  Anyhow, I don\'t see why they can\'t do the same for Tekken 4 considering the caliber of the game and their current competition(DOA3, VF4) are both running on much more powerful hardware.  I am sure Namco wouldn\'t want to look the least powerful amongst the three.

erm....i was under the impression that Virtua Fighter 4 was headed to PS2...and what the hell difference does power matter...especially seeing as XBox and GameCube have NOT shown anything superior to what the PS2 has shown so far

as it stands Nintendo has no big, exclusive fighters...i see mebbe TTT coming, bt i doubt that the otehr will be coming along with it...my opinion

Namco HATES nintendo, my bet is that they will get the crap that DC got. Mr. Driller, Ms. pacman, etc. nothing of quality. Then, I bet you anything, NAMCO will complain about how low that game sells. I love it! NAMCO = Eric\'s disliking.

Living - that pic just ain\'t working for you man, you need the Castlevania love!

Didnt Namco announce that Tekkan AND Soul Calibur would be PS2 Exclusive games for a year?
I remember a bunch of threads about this during the E3 craze.

That\'s because Soul Calibur was originally made on the Naomi board, which was pretty much a Dreamcast. You didn\'t see Soul Calibur go to any other system. It\'s not very likely that Namco will remake the game entirely on the GC, but they could do it. It doesn\'t matter either way, I\'d still probably buy the PS2 version first.
