Only if Aaron agrees!

Here we go, last one of the day:

It is in the rock, but not in the stone;
It is in the marrow, but not in the bone;
It is in the bolster, but not in the bed;
It is not in the living, nor yet in the dead.

What is it?

Dang, JediMaster again!  Another Gold Star:

So after day one:

Aaron :

JediMaster:

I think I\'m going to change the format tomorrow to the point that people have to PM their answer.  So I\'ll see you @ 1:00 AM EST (at present my post says it\'s 8:27 PM).  You\'ll have 24 hours to PM me the answer to the next question.  I think I\'ll throw in some PS2 trivia too.  It\'ll be a new thread.

Curses, see what happens when I go out to dinner? I have to work a 16 hour day tomorow (But I get to Screen Jurassic Park) so I won\'t be around for the puzzle. Unless it\'s too hard for everyone and it is still unsolved. :) This was fun, hope to see some good questions.

I\'ve made plans for a PM style system.  I\'ll have the questions up in a new thread in four hours.  2 brain teaser, and a Playstation-related question.  Everyone will have 24 hours to send in answers.

Try this: A farmer left seventeen horses to be divided among his three soms in the following proportions: To the eldest, one-half; to the second, one-third; and to the youngest, one-ninth. Is this possible? If so, how should they be divided? There are two different solutions.

9 + 6 + 2 = 17

I just figured out the fractions, rounded up, and there you go.

Actually, I rounded down, 8 + 5 + 1 = 14.  That\'s 3 more horses, divide one to each.

The other solution (uses a "double meaning" of words):

One half = two and one over = 3
One third = three and one over = 4
One ninth = nine and one over = 10
Total: 17

8 1/2, 5 2/3, 1 8/9(since Tro took the easyway ;)
Now you have about half of a horse left. Now take that hourse and cut the the half into three more peices to give .17 to each one. Now you take the whole horses and keep them, and sell the rest off for beef:D
