Anyone read the New Yorker?

The May 28, 2001 is my favorite one so far.  There is an article by Michael Specter, "The Doomsday Click."  It\'s about how easy hackers can get into other peoples computers.  INCLUDING MICROSOFT (xbox, here they come).  "You don\'t hack for harm - you hack for honor" - Gerri Mansur  (He\'s the guy who, in October, crashed the global server for Nasdaq.)

If you can get you hands on this edition, do so, the article is great.

I don\'t read the New Yorker, but it sounds like an interesting articel. How the hell can they interview a hacker in a big publication like that? Is he in jail already? I\', just thinking it wouldn\'t be too bright to hack something huge and then do an interview about it, but that\'s just me.

He was in the Netherlands.  They aren\'y very strict about hacking.  During the interview (in a internet cafe) one of the guys broke into the LAPD database and changed around some web pages!

That takes some balls. Kind of sucks that they can get away with it that easily though. You learn something new everyday it seems.
