Playstation 2 hard drive?

Anyone have any recent info on the Sony Hard Drive. I have heard rumors of GT4 being online and i was just wondering how much longer i have to wait to get going. Im so bored with online games with my pc.

What exactly was the last we\'ve heard?  Was it 2nd Quarter 2002, and $150 for the bundle?

NO.
The US HDD will be available this fall, presumably in November since that\'s when the first online game (Socom Navy Seals) will launch by it\'s side.

No us price has been announced. The $150 is for Japan, and as is with their games (and consoles) they always pay more. The US price will be LOWER than 150, but by how much, who knows.

My bad, maybe it was FFXI that was coming out 2nd Quarter 2002.  Or some big online game.  That is when I plan to buy it, when there are a couple online games to play.

do you have to have the hdd to play online?

I dont care about faster loading times or putting my own music onto the games for that much money.  All I want to do is play online.

is that possible without the hdd?

They will probably (guess) sell the HDD/ethernet together, but may offer just the HDD or just the modem.

If not, rest assured that Pelican, Interact, or other 3rd parties will come out with a usable modem. Probably 56k though.
