Ephermeral Fantasia, are they for real?
« on: July 23, 2001, 01:13:34 PM »
Destined to hit US shores on Aug. 10th, I have a few questions. . .

Are they actually going to keep in this line?  K-A !!!

How do you pronounce Xelpherpolis?  Why the heck did they choose the name Xelpherpolis?  I can\'t say it flows from the tongue easily.

UPDATE:  Now that I\'ve said that 10 times straight w/o laughing, it comes out quite easily.  Just took some practice.

Problems, shmoblems!  It\'s funny!

Here\'s a humerous review of the game:

Many people will ask what Ephemeral Fantasia is about. It\'s about $49.99. Hahahahaha. Okay, I\'m done.

Continued here:

In summary:

Pros: Skill learning system, different views of battle, Guitar Freaks interface.
Cons: Mediocre combat, boring time-based events, juvenile dialogue, too difficult, boring characters.
Pros: The music I played sounded great.
Cons: The in-game music is bad, far too much loading, simplistic graphics, clipping problems, menus dull and boring.

"How do I begin... to tell the story of how bad a game can be?" (Sung to the tune of Love Story.) Ephemeral Fantasia is not very good, but that has nothing to do with the high-quality songs I happened to produce within the game. Un-inspiring characters fighting un-inspired battles to get to un-inspired cutscenes just makes for a boring, tedious disc. If you hate RPGs there will be nothing in this game to change your mind. If you love RPGs, it may make you re-evaluate your decision.

Actually, it is already out. I have saw it in local stores for around a week now.
IGN reviewed it also.

4.2.. Not a very favorable rating.

Really? Oh.  Well I\'ll rent it first.  This is my favorite part of the review:

As if we cared, here is the box art of the game:

And here\'s some more screenshots to show you how crappy this game looks.  I wouldn\'t mind if the gameplay was good, but it\'s not so. . .
