its improvement on the whole....not just graphics...but at the same time..graphics are a main priority..otherwise they wouldnt focus on making a system that could push X number of polys,  with sharp looking textures...youre obviously a gaycube supporter because of youre signature,  so i wont waste my time arguing with you....go have \'fun\' playing nintendo\'s kiddie games with homosexual character designs like link...
nintendo is dead to me....ive grown up and i dont have \'fun\' playing their kiddie games...just like i dont enjoy playing with he-man or gi joe action figures no more....nintendo clearly stated recently that their target audience is kiddies...they think 10 year olds rule the videogame market..too bad they think this way...but they are a \'family entertainment\' videogame company...they thought last years zelda tech demo was too \'frightening\' so they made link look like a powerpuff girl.....i will not support a company like this...you can if you want to ...i wont..its that simple....
just watch your mouth...no need for personal insults here.

First off, practice what you preach. You are preaching no name calling and that is exactly what you done. Not to mention, in every one of your arguments you go out of your way to make comments about Link\'s design being "homosexual".

Nintendo is smart . They know there is a huge young audience and this audience will only get bigger as the gaming industry continues to get more and more popular. As long as no one is delivering games for this audience, then they will. They have no reason what so ever to grow up. Infact, they have the best of both worlds. They have their \'hardcore\' fanbase which will buy whatever Nintendo puts out. Then they have the younger audience and the family consumers. Something Sony nor MS have went for , yet it is an important part of the industry. Just like there will always be Disney movies or some company providing family  entertainment instead of blood and guts.

You don\'t have to support Nintendo. It doesn\'t matter if you do or not. However, Nintendo\'s business plan is solid and will continue to work out despite Link\'s "homosexual design".

I really wish I could find the link to the report that showed how only one rated \'M\' game made it in the top 20 sales of \'99. These so called "kiddie" games have and always will maintain high sales because of the large young audience.

Nintendo is a bit kiddish with there pokeman bull.  Thats the reason i quit with nintendo but now since my all time fav, Sega has dropped out Sony is good.  But they dont know how to make a system that doesnt have bugs in them and they really dont try with there games which pisses me off.

Heres what i think about each developer.

Sony- Horrible games by Sony and lack of commitment to there system.  Without 3rd party support the system would die out soon but can handle much and seems to have a good online plan for the most part with the whole broadband deal, the only problem is netcape, there horrible.  They will finsh tied for the best 128 bit console with.....

Nintendo- Yes thats right nintendo.  The kiddish wussy kiddy system.  Well nintendo knows what they are doing, they have been doing this the longest out of the top 4.  The are very good in the First-person shooter games and seem to get some help from 3rd party games.  But like always nintendo will produce many-a game for its system which most are good.  They have what no other 128 bit console has besides Sega, Mascots, and lots of them such as link, mario n lugi, star fox, metriod the list goes on and on, but it basically comes down to if u like those mascots or not, they will Be tied for the best 128 bit console with PS2

XBox- This is the only system i have to say that will not do well at all.  For the casual gamer and seldom player this system is for you.  Casual gamers go for looks and graphics basically.  True it will be the most powerful but with almost every microsoft game using the quake 3 engine it will get old fast.  Not too much 3rd party support here and no history to work off of so they cannot correct there mistakes like nintendo sega and sony can.  They will finsh last in the 128 bit console race.

Sega- Well now that production has stopped and now the cheapest 128 bit system to own this is a great choice.  The online setup is very nicely done and many great games have came from that system.  They had to be the first ones out of the gate and they delievered what was expected from them, a great job by segas part...its just a shame they had to stop making systems :(  they take 2nd in the 128 bit console race

Mostly opinionated but some facts, feel free to comment how ever you like.

hey....ill insult back whoever insults me first cause im not a p-ssy...
plus..insulting link\'s new look is ok..cause link is not a member of this forum....
but anyhow,  im tired of this argument...it was cool at first but now its boring....
TO ME,  it doesnt matter how much money nintendo makes or doesnt...its about what i take out of it....and what impact their games make on me....nintendo doesnt impact me anymore...unfortunately....but they impact the younger audience and the \'hardcore gamers\' that buy any game that nintendo makes...so good for them..i wish i could feel the same,  but i dont...IF nintendo would release ALL types of games on their console,  then i wouldnt be sooo pist about zelda\'z journey into kiddie land...but its the fact their focusing on not allowing any \'mature\' games that may frighten kids away be released on their console....so i hate them for that decision..i wish nintendo could be like sony or microsoft or sega and just take advantage of their new systems to make games of ALL genres...but theyre not cause they have to keep their family image...so,  thats why theyre dead to me.....

i disagree...i think sony will reign supreme because of its popularity and its huge 3rd party support....

i think microsoft will be 2nd and very close to a tie with sony because of the fact that bill gates has all the money in the world to invest in the xbox and upgrade it and do whatever it takes to make it a success...even if it means buying sony out..lol

gamecube will be dead last because of the audience they target...
that,  plus the lack of 3rd party support will not allow gamecube to succeed as much as sony or microsoft..im not saying theyll fail because,  hell,  if the n6crap pulled through,  then the gaycube will too,  but it will never surpass sony and i think in the long run,  itll fall behind the newcomer,  microsoft,  as well...

too bad the dc died,  because i loved it and im still buying games for it....i think it was segas best system....the textures are still better than the ps2...and i think they pulled out some great games their first year than sony did its first year.....oh well..atleast we still have them as a 3rd party now...maybe well see nights 2 and another ecco the dolphin running at a solid 60 fps this time...

Can someone tell me a percentage of the market that children hold compared to adults?

I\'m going to make up a hypothetical situation.  Let\'s say that the "kiddie" market is 30% while the mature market is 70%.

Now, let\'s say that MS and Sony split the mature market.  That leaves it at 35% for Sony, 35% for MS, and 30% for Nintendo.  I honestly don\'t believe that Sony and MS will evenly split that market, and let\'s throw in the fact that the Xbox probably won\'t sell that well in Japan.

So that leaves N.A., Europe, and Japan for Nintendo and Sony, while XBox only gets N.A. and Europe.

That\'s why I don\'t think XBox can get better than third.  It really only has two areas to be truly successful in, while in Japan they will have limited success at best.

I really hate to say this, but the kiddy market is small compared to mainstream.  Most of the mainstream people will buy a PS2, Xbox or both.

Y\'all can worry about the 5 percent buying a kiddy machine (no insult Nintendo admits it), I think I will worry more about  the other 95 percent.

Remember what happened to the N64, well that may get worse if Nintendo doesn\'t advertise RS2.

Imagine how much would have changed if an xbox jr would have been in the last market, I wouldn\'t even have bothered with the N64 and the two games I bought. :)

You all seem to forget that some young people will end up getting a ps2 or a x-box.  It\'s not like Nintendo has a garauntee to get 100% of the kiddy market.  Games like J&D, Klonoa, Crash, and Spyro the Dragon, will have plenty of young people interested.

It\'s not like Sony and MS have the mature market guaranteed either, so your point is moot.  Eternal Darkness, Too Human, Resident Evil 0, and Perfect Dark 2 will draw mature gamers.  And of the titles you listed, 2 or 3 of those titles will be on GC, so it really doesn\'t matter in the end.

You also forget that some mature people will get the GameCube. And dont say no they wont  cause I\'m one of them and I know there are others on these boards that will too

The kiddy market is small compared to mainstream?  That\'s a load of crap, otherwise the N64 wouldn\'t have sold 30 million + consoles.  XBox just has the least chance of being in 1st or 2nd place this time.  It has more things going against it than the other two consoles, and I already listed what they were in a previous post in this thread.

Haha, that was pretty funny, but can anyone give me the stats on how much of the market is "Kiddy" and how much isn\'t?

they have to make a mature pokemon game. Well....lez say pimpachu!yes a great name indeed! The epic adventure of a pokemon in loves rated X. Or another one could be buttrocket wich you are a member of team rocket and you must save the world from monsters from onimusha and the only weapon you got is your butt and the rockets that shoot out of it rated M.

So...how do you like the ideas for and adult pokemon game?

332 if u like

334 if u dont
1.FF7
  2. Grandia
  3. MGS
Is it me? Or does PSone own all the other systems?
