Two topics to discuss today.

Famistu rates Japanese GameCube launch games.

http://www.nintendojo.com/infocus/index.php#1000069067

They all got gold(Luigi\'s Mansion, Wave Race, and Monkey Ball?), which is 31-35. That\'s pretty impressive if you ask me. It looks like GameCube will have a strong start in Japan. Next year when Mario and games which use the GBA/NGC connectivity rolls around then PS2 may have some serious competition for the lead in the Japanese market.

Secondly, Shenmue and Virtua Fighter creater is extremely impressed with the GameCube hardware.

http://nintendo.cloudchaser.com/news/index.php?view=1

"We revealed a while back that Sega\'s AM2 were working on GameCube but now their president Yu Suzuki has confirmed this and has some interesting words to say about the console.
At a press conference in Japan he said he\'s "beyond impressed with the GameCube hardware, more so than other consoles" and that he wishes to make many games for it. "

Personally, I think NGC is perfect for Shenmue. The control setup would be PERFECT, GameCube could easily handle all the extreme texturing and double or possibily even triple the poly-count at the same time, NGC has ultra fast load-times, it just seems right IMO.

Your thoughts.

Good news...although I\'m still mad at Nintendo for showing that trash they call Zelda.  (I\'ll get over it someday:( )

Here are the actual scores.

Wave Race: Blue Storm: 8, 9, 8, 7 (32/40)
Super Monkey Ball: 8, 8, 8, 8 (32/40)
Luigi\'s Mansion: 9, 9, 8, 8 (34/40)

Hey wasn\'t Luigi\'s Mansion supposed to be a boring game according to some PS2 fans?

[stonecold]

What? What? What?

[/stonecold]

Yeah now it\'s time to shut your mouths about that "boring" game. Famistu wouldn\'t give a "boring" game 34/40, an extremely good score. Didn\'t they give Devil May Cry the same score(or one above at the least)? Monkey Ball and Wave Race got great scores too.

personally, I hope Shenmue goes to X-Box, where it can fully take advantange of the harddrive and mucho graphix. This can be done the same way Project Ego is using the harddrive.

32\'s are given out all the time.

Either games are getting better, or they love giving out high scores.

Soul Calibur got a perfect score, it was a launch title, along with Sonic Adventure, which got a good score too.

Scores mean nothing. Soul Calibur in my opinion sucks. SA was way better IMO, but many people ***** about it all the time.

Monkey Ball will probably b Marble Madness in 3D, at least that is how it looks.

Luigi\'s Mansion still looks boring to me.

And Wave Race is Wave Race.

yea for Nintendo.

How could the harddrive make a significant difference? GameCube\'s load times are just as fast as Xbox\'s without the upload process and last time I checked, RL still looks as good or better than anything I\'ve seen on XBox.

Not for nothing Jumpman, but that same Famitsu gave Final Fantasy X (the series you hate after part VI) a 39/40. Seeing how you trust them with the NGC reviews, you would trust them with the FFX review right?

edit: - On topic; I\'m glad those NGC games received good scores. I\'m anxious to get the GC the day of launch, and I hope Nintendo bails me out of these videogame blues I\'ve been having as of late. (though Silent Hill 2 / DMC / and others are due before launch, but still...) -> I also think Luigi\'s Mansion looks boring, but I hope I will be surprised when I actually play it.

Although DDaryl and I have gone through this times before, I will indulge.

Imagine if you, for discussion\'s sake, smash up a car in Shenmue 3. Well, that would take the huge space of the hard drive. You say that could be saved on a memory card? Now do it for every car in Dobuita. And vary the damage for each car.

Beat some people up.

Smash some fruit stands

buy tons of stuff, etc.

These could all be saved on the hard drive. I don\'t care about load times, never have. About graphics, I meant to say over PS2, than GC.

X-Box is best suited in market preference, too.

Have you actually watched the video.  It looks like a 3D creation of the first Zelda.  I hated it at first but after watching the video, i was impressed.  I still would have preferrred the SW2000 version though.

he\'ll reply the same way he always does...

he\'ll quote him on 2 or 3 different sentences..give out an ignorant opinion and look foolish as usual...

i dont trust reviews or scores...
its crazy how 2 games can have the same score when they look totally different and play totally different...luigis mansion looks boring as hell to me,  but i wont know for sure until i play it...devil may cry looks fun as hell,  but for all i know,  it could turn into a piece of crap later....

were gonna have to wait until the day comes that we actually play it for ourselves...and with all these games being delayed or changed,  luigis mansion better be worth while cause its prolly gonna be one of the few games we\'ll have this holiday season...lol.
