Q: What do you think of the PlayStation2 hardware?
Lorne: The PlayStation2 hardware is extremely exciting, and it even looks cool! Finally it\'s going to stop looking like a game machine and will now fit in the hi-fi component rack where it belongs. Add DVD movie playing and surround sound and it doesn\'t get much better. There are still things that we don\'t know about its tools and development kits, like audio for example, but based upon what we\'ve learned thus far it seems as though Sony is doing things right.

ummm, good? What reaction am I suposed to get from this?

It will still be underpowered in compared to the 2 newer systems, it really isn\'t debatable in that respect.

C\'mon Eric. We all know how much you like to jump in with your own brand of arrogance, but from what I\'ve seen the PS2 is far from underpowered

compared to the newer systems.

PS2 is far from being inadequate, I\'m not an idiot, it is just that I don\'t know what the point of this thread is.

I\'m not sure why either, besides a little chuckle in  realizing that Lorne really switched his attitude 180 degrees after he realized he would actually have to make an effort to build his game.

I\'m also sure the game will be  more polished on Xbox then it would have been on the PS2

For starters, I just wanted to stir some things up, since things are dead around here lately.

Secondly, it goes to show that Lanning wasn\'t always the whining and b!tching anti-ps2 person he is now.

I still find it funny that Munch does not show the superiority of the Xbox over PS2. Find any Munch PS2 shot, and you will see they\'re basically identical. I\'m not questioning the X-box\'s power over PS2, because that\'s obvious. Just Munch isn\'t the showcase for that.

Speaking of oddworld, has anyone here played it yet? The demo shimmers bad. I usually dont complain about lame $h1t like this, but I have a friend who has been mocking the "jagstation" for 6 months now, and it was somehow redeeming to see the look on his face when he was playing oddworld.

I mean we all know ps2 is no sloutch and we all know it is the most under powered compared to the gcn and xbox. They are newer technologies. I guess this topic was to restore the faith in  those ps2 fans who losing faith. Well from DMC I sure haven\'t.

No, Munch doesn\'t look exceptional.  I\'ve never played any in the series so I can\'t even comment about gameplay, but from the screens and movies it doesn\'t stand out.
