Wow I guess it great fun when your team can afford all the superstars and build a Stanley Cup Champion and then keep that team in tact for years

while the majority of teams struggle to keep from going under while all there top free agents get picked up by other teams who are capable and willing to over spend for the product leaving these other teams to struggle and hope they can keep a competitive team on the ice and hope even further that the fans don\'t jus tgive up because they are sick of coming close but never winning it all just because they can not afford the 1 or 2 players that would make the difference

Heck ask the Quebec Nordiques, oh wait they did have a great team but was forced to move to Colorado because they couldn\'t afford to stay

I agree, they should do something about the state of Hockey, ... Poor teams can\'t compete, ... not enough $$$ ... plus the salaries of all major sports have really gone up way too much IMO. I mean shiat, it used to be $4000 a season, oh, wait, must compensate for inflation. [adjusts inflation by 50,000 percent] ah, ok…

I wonder where the salaries will stop at? ... 50 million a season? lol

I gots to agree with DDaryl on this one. My favourite team would have to be without question, DANANAN the Edmonton Oilers.

  They have one of the lowest salary totals in the league and are still in the top 5 in terms of standings. It truly is a shame that the American teams or bigger market Canadian teams can afford all this talent and we have to go with rookies or all younger players because we simply can\'t afford to pay veterans.

  Just this past year we had to trade away our top player in Doug Weight because of money issues and Bill Guerin because of the same reason.(Though we did recieve Anson Carter)

  Anywho i have rambled for too long but the richer teams should not be able to buy a stanley cup every team in the league should have an equal opportunity to have superstars in their lineups.

Cry me a river. The Red Wings have gone through decades of suffering in the past with crappy rosters and low turn outs and everything. Now that they\'re successful and have money because of it, everybody hates them. So like whatever...
