Microsoft Fears Xbox Pirates
« on: November 17, 2001, 02:08:19 AM »
A interesting report surfaced this morning in the South China Morning Post regarding Microsoft\'s Xbox. According to the paper, Microsoft has no plans to release the Xbox in Hong Kong or mainland China anytime soon due to growing piracy fears. More aptly, the report suggests that Microsoft can\'t afford the risk of widespread software piracy due to overwhelming losses on Xbox hardware manufacturing. When asked about the situation, Microsoft representatives in Tokyo refuted the report. From what we\'ve been told, Xbox will be released in Hong Kong and other Asian markets eventually, though definitive release dates haven\'t been decided. The Morning Post report went on to say that Microsoft executives were furious over the premature release of Windows XP by pirates in Hong Kong recently.

Sony did the same thing, no ps2 for asia. I know this because I lived there, you have to buy an expensive US unit and they often rip you off

The hong kong piracy thing is not true, i have been there last summer and I have seen no shops selling copied games. They only had originals
Do you believe in a god that statisfies
Do you believe in a god that opens eyes?
Do you believe in a god that tells you lies?
Or do you believe in me??
