What game has the most underrated graphics?

I mean a game you think is just amazing looking but recieve little to no credit for its great graphics. Mine would have to be Project Gotham Racing sure some reviewer and gamers says this game looks good. PGR was worked on for alittle less than a year the visual can easily go toe to toe with gt3 even out classing it in some places. So whats game has the most underrated graphics to you?

Another game that comes to mind is tekken 4 I think its one of the best looking ps2 games.  It seems like the graphics don\'t receieve that much credit everyone knows tekken 4 already plays good.

I\'m going with Project Gotham Racing too.  Driving in the night is one of the best I\'ve seen and the gameplay is very hard too.  

PG looks like ****e, looks like MRS with better models IMO

I say Tekken Tag! Yes its old, but if you look at some things it looks better than some of the otehr fighters out there (for example the use of texure and lighting is amazing for a 1st gen title)

Check the ogre level, see the floor which looks photorealistic, so does the last stage and thsoe trees on the beach stage. The list goes on

I agree PGR is one of the best looking games I\'ve seen in a long time and your right driving at night is just amazing looking and yes its hard as well.

I think that, unfortunatley, games almost ALWAYS get noted for their graphics right off the bat.  Now a thread like "Most underrated gameplay" or "most underrated characters" would make more sense but in the game industry today graphics play far too huge a role.  Kinda a shame too.

My vote goes for San Francisco Rush: 2049 for the Dreamcast.

I mean, they completly made it into a joke on the N64 (PSX was just a 8-bit DOS game, IMO). I played the N64 SFR: 2049 first, then I went to the DC. Boy, was I amazed!

Yea, that\'s practically like comparing Gretzky 64 to Sega\'s hockey games.  It\'s like a whole different rhink.

I dont think that pgr is that underrated, it gets its fair share of props. But then again i dont hear as many people talking about indevidual games on xbox and how their grafix look, except for halo and doa3, (the majority of common and some semi hardcore gamers). And the reason behind it not getting as many ooooo\'s! and aaaaahhh\'s! over gt3 is because its a new game on newer and better hardware and looks as good as a game that uses way less polygons that came out a while back. And when you look at replays and things of that sort of pgr it doesnt look as reall as gt3 does. Dont get me wrong, pgr is a stunning game, but you have to admit that when we all saw gt3 jaws dropped like crazy when we found out that the movies were in game. What pgr does better is scenery without a doubt. Oh and one more thing to consider, grafix in a game like gt3 were never really reached before. Everyone said from time to time that certain games almost looked reall but gt3 did. Now that we have gotten this far, people are doing less oooooing and aaahhhhhing for games like pgr even thought it out matches many games. Sorry! I dont know why i wrote this much on just this but i dont feel like deleting it         *jaw drops as Nicon stares at jm\'s dancing gurl:D *

I\'d say Kingpin on the PC. Its a bit dated now but in my opinion it looked cool. It certainly outshadowed the other FPS of that time, Quake 3 and Half Life etc.

If I had to chose a console game i\'d say Midnight Club Street Racing. Ok the graphics wern\'t good but they wern\'t as bad as some reviewers made out.

yeah midnight club looked pretty good. I had a lot of fun with it, and surprizingly i still do sometimes. The rain at dusk with all the lighting and reflections, plus a few good textures for the time. good stuff

oh yeah and i forgot about the real-time collision damage. Another good game around that time that didnt get that much props was timesplitters. Man that game was a riot moving at a fluid 60fps shells dropping bulletes, explosions, a few ok textures and tons of enemies to kill

I wasn\'t comparing SFR: 2049 to the N64, I was just saying that the game got no credit for the drastic improvement in graphics. I meant that the N64 ports were really washed out, PSX port was a joke. BTW, nice to see you again Eik:)

I also felt Daytona USA for the DC was VERY underrated in terms of graphics and as an entire game. It got no praise. I actually bought that title. In a way, THPS was graphically underrated. I mean, the series was really gameplay, but THPS on the DC was a whole new world.
