EA Not To Produce On-Line Games
« on: January 21, 2002, 02:49:21 PM »
Well not anytime soon I guess. According to their vice president, when asked in an interview on the Tech TV channel if they will be making on-line games for PS2 and X-Box. He said "NO, we don\'t think on-line gaming for consoles will be up and running smoothly till 2004."

Well I\'m sure they will change their minds once a few of their copetitors release succesful on-line games. Me, I\'m just hoping it\'s alot sooner than 2004.

You\'ve been betrayed and left for dead.  Now you\'re taking revenge, unless the city streets get you first.  Mob boses need a favor, crooked cops need help and street gangs want you dead.  You\'ll have to rob, steal, and just plain kill to survive

Don\'t care about online gaming? I for one think that it can make a game 100x better. I mean, I still play starcraft after how many years.....  But to each their own I guess.

Im all for online gaming. But as far as EA not producing online games. Somewhere on the EA site I heard something about Madden coming to the internet. Maybe not sometime soon but perhaps early 2003 with Madden 2004. Maybe even Madden 2003. Who knows. The day Madden comes to the internet is the days* I stay locked in my room for at least two weeks.

Online gaming is what people have wanted for years for the consoles, imagine fighting someone halfway across the country in a fighting game, or play against someone else in a sport game.

There is no info to be had.  Everyone just talks out their ass and never does anything.  Sony says "oh blah blah SOCOM online 2002"
X-box says "Oh blah blah HALO online, no it\'s not" and then some people create a VPN for HALO and that\'s the closest anyone has come to making an online game for M$ or Sony.

Actually the trend for on-line gaming is changing slowly into PRESCRIPTION gaming.  Where you pay $5 or $10 bucks a month to prescribe to the game of your choice.  EA has a few of these out and if you ever have the chance to look at one you should really check it out, I think you would be amazed at the game play and the fluidity of these huge jacked up dedicated servers they run them from.

Go to the EA a web site and check it out, also should have some good links.  Plus they are always Beta testing something, that\'s free.
