HELP!!! My computer has gone completely NUTS!
« on: January 23, 2002, 02:26:45 AM »
It is making a copy of every single file on my three hard drives (C, D, E).

Its making a VB Script file (12k) of each and every file and making the original file hidden.

For instance.

Picture1.Jpg is now Picture1.Jpg, but with VB extensions, and makes the original file a hidden/system file, so I cant use it unless I set the option to view these types of files in the folder.

Its a REAL pain. Do I have a virus??? Can someone please gimme some proper advice as to how to solve this??? When I delete the VB script files, the next time I reboot, there back on the same files, and I have also tried to create a new System Registery, but it did nothing.

HELP???

Step 1: Get a virus program.
Step 2: Refer to step 1.

Have you tried kicking it a lot? Sometimes that helps.

If that doesn\'t work - get an anti-virus. Then, if you decide that idea sucks, buy a MAC.

Oh and kick it a lot.

Do you have virus software? If you do I would run a scan of your complete system as soon as possible. It does sound like a virus. You may have to reformat your harddrive and from the sound of it also repartition the harddrive, then reload whatever windows you have.I hope you have backup copies of your important info.Goodluck
