But these are only US sales.  So it\'s 8 million PS2s vs 1.5 million Xboxes.  These games sales match the console sales almost exactly.

you know when a console launches...how you dont have any variety of games, or choices or any previous games you own...so therefore...you are pretty much FORCED to buy the games on offer

1.5 million XBox\'s sold...which means about 1.5 million people buy Halo...1.5 million people buy Project Gotham etc etc.

with PS2 you have choice...CHOICE!  you have other games you already own, you have spent previous monies\' on other games, or on your new XBox..

with XBox you have to buy the launch games otherwise you have no games to play

Yep, very much like N64. They consistently had top selling games. Why? Well, with the lack of choices and lack of new games, even mediocre games sold well. Plus, N64 owners were starved into buying whatever game came out.

Anyone ever played Superman 64? Why is it that Superman had to literally fly through those rings in the air to get to his rescue point? :rolleyes: Terrible game. Great sales though.

Xbox doesn\'t have as many games to choose from compared to PS2. So there\'s gonna be some top selling games there. Not bad games either....unlike N64 back in the day.

Because discussion of Superman 64 is critical for the progression of this topic.......  I\'d like to clear that one up.

If you played Superman 64 on Easy those rings weren\'t there and that made those flying levels so simple they were practically pointless.  Putting in the rings gave a purpose to the flying and, in my opinion, made those levels fun.

While the other levels were leaps behind, they still offered at least a solid premise and for these things I can say that I enjoyed Superman 64.  I always like to point that out when I can, because I\'m not afraid to admit it! ;]

Then again, I didn\'t pay for the game, so maybe it\'s that the price was right...

you mean seeing that the PS2 has 28 MILLION consoles all over the world and the X box has only 1.5 million ?

Oh....no GameCube games in there....Nintendo should really get its head outta its arse. Even X-Box games, and PSone games are in there.
