I have a question to ask...
« on: March 29, 2002, 05:41:30 AM »
Think back to the time when we were all playing our little nintendo entertainment systems, sega mega drives and more recently nintendo 64\'s and playstation 1\'s.
For those of you who were a nintendo 64 person, remember how long some of those games were? I mean, the timer on Donkey Kong 64 told me that it had taken me 60 full hours to beat, with ALL the big bananas might I add (yup, all 201!) And its not like I ever found any of this time boring either.
Now that console gaming has been elevated to the next level, and programmers have the power to put so much more into their games, why is it that they seem to be getting shorter? Most of the recent playstation 2 titles are easily completed in around 6, sometimes only up to 10 hours. Am I just playing all the shorter games like Baulder\'s Gate and Devil May cry, or has anyone else noticed the same thing?
