Here\'s an amusing press release sent out today by Eidos; apparently the \'real-life\' Lara Croft will be making rounds at E3 next week in Los Angeles. Abandoning all pretense of having an actress or model show up in her stead, Ms. Croft will be there, skimpy outfit and all, at the Eidos booth (South Hall 1300 in case you\'re attending) on Wednesday, May 22nd at noon sharp."For years we have wanted to introduce the real Lara Croft to the world. We are thrilled that we could finally convince her to take some well deserved time off to meet her fans," stated Eidos Interactive Vice President of Marketing Paul Baldwin. "The chronicles of her adventures have really struck a chord with gamers around the world and we think they will be overjoyed to finally meet her and talk to her in person.""I know my fans think I have been elusive in the past, but this is really the first time in years I have had the opportunity to take a break from my work pursuits," says Croft. "I am excited to finally have the chance to meet some of my supporters in person. It should be a kick."Here\'s Ms. Croft\'s bio, straight from the press release:Croft has made a name for herself in the past six years as the heroine of the Tomb Raider series, but she earns her living as a writer of travel books. The 5\'9" brunette, a native of Wimbledon and the daughter of Lord Henshingly Croft, has captivated world attention by way of her exploits -- becoming a cultural icon and appearing on the covers of Time magazine, TV Guide, among other publications -- yet ironically remains both an enigma and fiercely protective of her privacy. She grew up in the wealth and aristocracy of England, studying at prestigious schools, but soon found that her passions ran toward travel and adventure. She is an expert in many types of hand-to-hand combat and proficient in the use of over 8 weapons ranging from an Uzi to a harpoon gun. Croft has traveled to over 20 countries in pursuit of her adventures. She spends time between expeditions engaged in extreme sports, riding her Norton Streetfighter motorcycle and training in an assault course custom-built on the grounds of her Surrey mansion. Her taste in music spans from classical to U2 to trance music. On a related note, we\'ve heard rumors that the \'real\' Sonic the Hedgehog will be in attendance as well, so you might want to keep you eyes peeled for him, too.
