Yeah, I was driving towards my fiance\'s house one day and on the way, I saw a duck and two ducklings crossing the road. So, naturally, I stopped to let them by. As I sat there, I saw about a block down in the middle of the road, these two large crows hopping up and down. It was kinda strange to see. Then I saw something scurry away from the two large birds. I thought, "Cool, a rat. I hope they eat it."
So the duck family crosses and I proceed on. Then I saw the two crows were really trying to peck at this duckling, probably left behind by the Duck family that crossed the road (making me late). Instead of the little thing running away, it would run towards the birds causing them to hop into the air. Not sure if the little bugger was trying to attack the crows coz it knew it had no chance or what.
So I got out of the car and picked up the duckling with the thought of reuniting it with its family. I go back to where the ducks had crossed and I couldn\'t see them anywhere. But I could hear the tweeting of the ducklings in a bush, though. So I went there to drop their sibling off. Not more than 6 feet from the bush, the crazy mommy duck BURSTS OUT OF THE BUSH nearly taking my head off! I nearly crapped my pants and possibly dribbled a few drops of golden honey into my underwear. The other two ducklings scurry away from me and into the road where there were other cars driving past! So....I\'m out there in the middle of the street, picking up these little ducks so they don\'t get killed while in the mean time, I\'m hoping the cars don\'t kill the crazy fool running around in the middle of the road, like a bent old man, picking up these little fur balls!
Anyway....I finally got all three ducks...but the mommy duck was still missing. I thought about raising them myself but from my memories as a child, ducks are not the neatest pets in the world (my dad kept a few for their eggs and later, dinner! MWAHAHAHA!) In fact, they will crap where they stand and their poops are as big as puppy poops.
So, I leave the little ducks near the bush where I had found them. Hopefully, the mommy duck comes back.
The next day, to celebrate my humanitarian effort, I ate a roasted Peking duck at a Chinese restaurant. Yeah, the ones you see hanging like a rubber chicken? Those. Man, that was some good stuff! I knew I should have kept those ducks! I\'d be set for Thanksgiving and Christmas!
