Disabling email notification of responses from threads

I changed my profile options to "no" on the "Use \'Email Notification\' by default?" option a couple of days ago because I\'ve just been getting more email lately than I\'ve had time to check, and because I recently moved and temporarily don\'t have DSL at home, (and unfortunately b/c of crappy phone lines, I can only connect at 24k ) so it\'s taking forever to download my email.

Anyway, after disabling that option, I\'m still getting email notifications of replies. Is there something else in the options that needs to be changed in my profile to stop those?

I would never enable that option to be honest. Couldn\'t think of anything worse.

ive never subscribed to a thread. but every so often i get a email, cos someones put a post on a old thread..... i do unscribe when i relise, but i never ever have subscribed
