I\'ve played both NFL2k3 and Madden 2003 and can\'t decide which game has the better offline mode so I want to buy one based on its online play. I played them both before I got my modem, so I havn\'t an idea how they play online. I cant re-rent them or I wont have the money to buy one so i have to go based on other people opinions. So what game do you guys think has the better online play (all i really care about is the smoothness of play on 56k and the ease of getting into a game and playing it)? If anyone has any opinions of NBA 2k3 vs. NBA Live 2003 those are welcome too.

Also has anyone besides me heard rumors of EA putting a monthy fee on there games in 2003? I doubt it, but that would influance my purchase if its true.

Get Madden for two reasons

1) It\'s got sooooooooooooooo many things to do, and the franchise mode is sweet.  Not to mention FREE online play.

2) You can join the madden league on our website!

ahhhh, cr@p..my bad, im behind a year, lol. Madden 2003 has free online, then when 2004 comes out, 2004 will have free online and 2003 will have a monthly fee. So their basically making u buy the next maddens so u dont lose a bunch of money. Which is the only way EA can make a profit outta online play.

as much crap as i think that is....i will probably buy madden 2004 ne ways. Besides im sure Sega will do the same thing with NFL 2k3 to 2k4, and even if they didnt i probably would not get NFL2k3...ive had 2k, 2k1, and 2k2, and ive never played a madden game b4 2003, its time for a break from Sega (besides i still hate Sega for killing my beloved Dreamcast)

Yeah Madden is the most compatible for the PSX2Central League anyway, so get Madden if you would like to play with the rest of the forum.

As far as NBA Live 2003, I would love to have a league, maybe a small league (as it is a pain for Madden, but worth it, to have a big league, plus there is more interest in Madden than NBA Live, so a small league would work much better).

So in short, I wish there was an NBA league and even an online forum here.

Madden 2003: I really like it. Always have liked the Madden titles,
even though NFL 2K1/2K2 were fun. I own Madden, and rented
2K3. I like 2003 better, but I never went online with Sega\'s title.
So if you want differences between the two online, I can\'t really
help. Only that 2K3 can play like 8 people at a time, and 2003 it\'s
only 2 (1 vs. 1).

NBA Live 2003 vs. NBA 2k3: Live is cool, I own that also. A big
improvement over the previous years. The online stuff stinks -
messaging is hard, usernames are CAPS only (???), but the
actual gameplay is cool. Haven\'t played too many laggy games,
and it\'s pretty fun dunking on someguy across the country. =)

I\'ve heard 2K3\'s online stuff is alright, and overall, that game is
supposed to be more of a simulation than Live 2003. But I\'ve
heard that Live seems more "fun" to play, and that if you change
all the right settings, it will become more sim-like as well.

Lastly, I\'m up for a small NBA Live league...gamefaqs is setting
one up I think.

Thanks johnyaya....i like the fact that madden is 1 on 1...in NFL 2k2 on dreamcast there would be 2 or moe people on one team and if im playing by myself, usually they would gang up on you makig ithard to avoud being sacked and it made the game less fun.

yea, when i first bought madden and played it online i thought why not have multiple guys on ur team. Then after a couple weeks of playing and running into morons, i realized having them on ur team would ruin the whole game. I could see ur own teamate as a running back running 12 yards backwards trying to get around the defense or ur wide reciever running around on his own route and going god knows where. long story short, im glad madden made it 1v1

You can play 8 people online on madden at one time too.

You would just have to have a mutiplayer adaptor. And 4 people would have to be at your house with 4 people at your opponents house. Doing it this way you can play with multiple people 8 people online.

You can\'t play mutiplayer online with people across the country though. It only works between 2 machines.
