Not only a sequel, but an expansion pack to the first one too!

I wonder what that could be, another city perhaps New York or LA.

I think we can expect these to be released in another 2 or 3 years time, going on the time the first one has been in production.:D

I think you can forget seing another city, as the development team is within London and it\'s already costing enough having central London in all its detail.

In the sequels the radius of the play area (London) will be increased it\'s 26square miles now so it will probably be doubled or tripled.

Hah, I doubt that.  It\'s already one of the most expensive games of all time, if not the most expensive..  Sony know they are not going to make ANY profit on this game, but of course are making prequals/sequals up the yazooey to get their money\'s worth.

I\'d like to see them put it on the shelf and make it a launch game for the PS3 myself.

Maybe they should focus on getting the first out and at that rate, getting the first out and it still being a GOOD game, before they plan a sequel.

Well sequels won\'t be as expensive as the first for obvious reasons. They mainly got a good engine from the first to use and a big slice of london modeled so there\'ll be less time to develope if you take those two factors into consideration.

But yeah, I agree with everyone else, they should wait and see how the first one fares before starting on number two.

Well, I think it is just plan of an adjusted bussiness model.
They\'ve invested sooo much into this first game, it would be
be stupid to just dish all the work (engine/models/techniques etc)
which resulted in that investment, hence a sequel.

They should have started a new project with the same engine instead of a sequel of a title they dont know if it will succeed.

Its stupid to even consider a sequel but should they fail with this, which I\'m confident it won\'t then I htink they will scrap the plans and maybe do a sequel for PS3 which has been mentioned before by Bobs_Hardware
I think they would go the same way as Rockstar and add more stuff to the game than just the locations, even though VC is in Miami now...
Anyway, I remember hearing bout this way back in 2000! it\'s been that long in production! oooh!
Next up Driver 3 as well!
Ladies, ladies, LADIES!...Jay and Silent Bob are in the hizz-house!

Well remember, and this is popular with all PS2 sequels, is that they\'ve invested a ton into the designing the game engine. The only way to make this money back is utilize the engine that is built to build sequels

It may seem premature to announce a sequel or expansion pack, but Sony knows the game will do well, How well is the question, but whatever fails on the 1st one will more easily remedied in the 2nd with tweaks to the gameplay engine etc..

Its actually good business sense, and they\'ll continue to find ways to polish the game engine

And the game engine will be used in other SCEE games, Destruction Derby 4 will use it.
