Don\'t forget... (video settings)
« on: October 31, 2002, 12:54:51 PM »
to turn off the light trails in the video settings menu.  I think it look smuch better and less distracting with em off.  I didn\'t think to do it until I completed 6-7 missions. :P

And anyone else trying out the DTS in this game?  It\'s bleh.  No center channel and no use of rear speakers for any distinction of your whereabouts.  Just the same material that\'s coming out of the fronts.

Still the best game I played on PS2 regardless of the minor FX problems.

I don\'t have the game yet, but are the light trails really that bad?

The trials arent THAT bad, everyone makes them seem unbearable. Its just after you take off the blur and them turn them back on, you see how big of a difference it is.
When you turn them off for awhile then turn them back on it makes you want to clear your eyes, like you cant see strait or your half-way drunk or something. But it does make the scenery look a lot less distracting to the eye when the blur is off.

I much prefer the trails turned off.  Turning them off makes the graphics much sharper and increases detail slightly IMO.

I turned the trails off as well since my friend had warned me about them.  I\'m glad they also included a widescreen mode.  This game just rules.

I find this game gives me a little bit of a headache...I might turn the trails off and see if it makes a difference.  I did discover the so-called DTS sound yesterday...only time I noticed it working was when a plane flew over.  Other wise...bleh.

@ THX... Yes, it´s a shame that there is no Center, but the dts Sound is great nevertheless ! You CAN hear things from behind (left/right) and it´s very cool !!

The DTS sound is a lot clearer, when you\'re in a car the engine mostly comes from the from the front speakers while the music comes from the surrounds, the bass is sharper and not so whoompy either.  I think it\'s lovely.

They wouldn\'t make a game 60hz as standard would they?

I know it\'d be silly as some TV\'s wouldn\'t deal with it but I haven\'t found one that has problems with it yet.

Its a nice 50Hz converstion though. I haven\'t seen how much faster the NTSC version runs but the framerate is a lot better than GTA 3 and its full screen.
