SO Disappointed !
« on: November 21, 2002, 04:29:14 AM »
With CMR 3. One of the main reasons I bought a PS2 recently was to play driving games, which I’ve always loved. I used to play CMR 2 on my PC until my fingers bled, excellent game. But I can\'t see any significant improvements. They seem to be living off the name with this one. When you start playing GT3 and see what can really be done with the PS2, it makes this lazy approach even more frustrating.

I played WRC for the first time and thought it was excellent. Much more challenging. I hear they\'ve tweaked the graphics on WRC 2 which make it a \'must buy\' on the 29th.

CM, and Codemasters for that matter can suck my big cock. On second thoughts, I wouldn\'t give them the pleasure.

CM3 is the biggest pile of buggy crap I have ever played in a racing game. Call that realistic eh?

WRC2 will hopefully not become the over hyped and under developed title that CM3 has become.

VRally 3 is one of the best rally racers I have played in PS2. Its got the speed that WRC doesnt have, and the graphics are much better then CM3.

It certainly doesn\'t have as many tracks or variety, and the gameplay takes a while to get used too, but its certainly the best PS2 has to offer ATM.

The USA levels sucked, and the AUS levels were so unreleastic. Did you play the Super Special Stage in AUS? The city in the background isn\'t even what the real city looks like, they have just created an imaginary skyline.

Why bother with realistic sound and gameplay when it doesn\'t even have real to life tracks?

Just bought V-Rally 3/Logitech Driving Force bundle. It does take some getting used to. But when you get the hang of it, IT KICKS ASS !

I think the thing that takes the most getting used to is how the steering response is in tune with your actual speed and revs. Like I say it will take some mastering but isn\'t that what it\'s all about. Graphics wise its no GT3 but looks good all the same. Particularly impressed with the sun flare affects.

i had V-Rally 2 on Dreamcast that game had insame grafx 60fps no slowdown it was awesome. I hear graphics are superior. To bad Vralley 3 doesnt have the 80+ tracks V-Rally 2 had....but im still gunna buy it. Is it out in the US tho. Europe gets all the rally games 1st!

Deviating from the subject slightly, (well allot actually). As a recent convert to the PS2 one thing still winds me up. Why can\'t I get a full screen picture? I understand that some games don\'t have the option to move the picture and I\'ve changed the settings on the machine from 4:3 to Full to 16:9 but this doesn\'t solve the problem.

Does an S-Video cable solve this ?
