/me vomits

yeah 0% improvement or inovation Gameplay or control wise

RE= same old same old

yeah and RE:CV was a great step in the evolution of the series :rolleyes:

sorry LIC buddy but that has to of been the first RE game i haven\'t completed because i found it BORING as hell

RE = Superb
RE2 = Even better
RE3= what a let down
RE:CV = i played the devil may cry demo more

yes RE0 & 4 (even RE online ps2) will have a welcome change in the series but for me its already starting to smell a little like Tomb Raider.

with minimal improments just for higher number on the end of the title.

lets hope RE0 , 4 and Online change that :D

There was innovation (for the series) in both RE:Nemesis, and Code Veronica.

In fact, the series has evolved, a little, through each iteration.

What innovation did Silent Hill 2 bring over Silent Hill 1?  What innovation will Silent Hill 3 bring over Silent Hill 2?

Prehaps if you would of played the superior version of Code Veronica (See: DC) - you\'d realize how great it truly was. It took the series in the world of polygons and what not. It wasn\'t as much as an evolution as RE3 or RE0. Both of those games brought signifcant changes to the series, some for the better and some for the worse. Either way, the series has changed. Infact, if you look at each Resident Evil game , you will see how each one had a new feature or evoled the gameplay slightly. Capcom always takes their series and tinkers them to perfection. They done this with Street Fighter also .

I personally don\'t care for RE0\'s changes - but there is no denying that Capcom does take their time and make the series fresher.

Furthermore, the point of a sequel is to maintain the same style of gameplay (for the most part) and simply improve upon the formula that was previously succesful. Otherwise you would alienate a complete audience who bought the sequel hopin\' for more of the same.

Silent Hill on the other hand, like Bobby said, hasn\'t changed any in the sequels.

The greatness of RE compeled me to vote for Resident Evil.  Oh, and on a sidenote.  RE > RE2

You Sir, have been pushing your limits and been flirting with a banning, but for not liking either, I think a banning should be inforced!

All around I would say Silent Hill, it gives better effects of where you are. Resident Evil was a little more of an action game, which isnt bad and I still like the series but Silent Hill takes it down.

*starts getting flashbacks of long dark nights playing SH.*

Yea those Silent Hill nights were no joke. Sitting at the edge of my couch, dark as hell, sound turned up... Then I hear something but I cant see where it is or what it is. Then I turn around a corner slowly and carefully and BAM, something  lunges at me out of nowhere. Crazy stuff.

It also had some disturbing scenes, specially if you like a 6 year old boy playing. haha

the apartment buildings in SH2 absolutly 0wn3d!  I remember seeing the dead guy in his chair, and being wary as hell the entire time in that room.  And another great time was hiding in the closet when the pyramid head was raping some monsters, I liked the scaryness and I liked the raping!
