i JUST WANT SOME THING THAT PLAYS AVI. a simple program, with a play, pause, stop, fastforward, and rewind..

install codecs.  Divx5 should fix that problem


It\'s not about "a simple player"   movies are encoded with codecs. You need to install these codecs so the media player can decode the video etc.

my windows media player did the same thing before I downloaded the codec for avi files.  I just went to http://www.divx.com and downloaded the divx player.

Install the divx player and reboot your comp and avi files should play in both the windows media player or the divx player.
