Looks nice but it\'s going to hurt when they pull that $2200 thru your rectum.
I wouldn\'t touch that system w/out at least 1 GB or RAM.  My 9700 Pro needs 768 MB just to breathe on my 1.2 Tbird.

As with all Dells I am scurrd of the motherboard.  On the plus side they are standardized using the newest Intel chipset but to keep costs low I heard they are made in another country using cheaper parts than what you\'d find in an Asus or Gigabyte.  Probably jsut being paranerd here though.

Another gripe is that pre-loaded software clutters your HD, desktop, systray (memory), Start Menu, Registry, etc...

That\'s why I formatted my Dell the minute I got it.

If you do it with the included install CD aren\'t there still some Dell components embedded or is it a standalone Windows CD?

Their mobos are usually some offshoot of an Intel chipset but not always integrated to the hilt.  This one\'s an 875P which looks ok to me.

The thing that irks me about Dell\'s prices is they start too high and then add for things that should already be included.  Like:

CDRW drive
RAM
better mouse/keyboard
Speakers

Tis true. That is the only sad part. It really sux though when your reading about the max capabilities and you look at the price which is only the base price. So when you go to the back of the booklet or whatever and see that it cost a fortune with all the things you want you just rip the booklet in half.

For me i generally buy the parts and put my pc toegether myself but sometimes i just think that companies can throw together a decent machine once every blue moon.

Dell has great support though, I give them that.  The only time they didn\'t air mail me replacement parts was when they came to the house.

I know what you\'re saying about the endless applets and spyware some manufacturers add to their boxes.  I was pleasantly surprised when I received my Dell recently.  It had remarkably few BS applications installed, and I was able to easily disable the ones that were there.

Alienware sucks!!!!!!  Way overpriced and substandard parts (IBM Deskstar HD - 2 of them died).
