My PC temperature
« on: July 26, 2003, 11:54:56 AM »
Till today, I hadn\'t noticed that my case is a little hotter than was before the updating of the cpu. I\'ve checked the temperature in the bios info and it said:

System Temp: 52ºC / 127ºF
CPU Temp: 63ºC / 145ºF

I think this is high temperature for CPU, isn\'t it?

I installed the official hook stink (or whatever it\'s called in english) that arrived with the processor. The mobo has another fan, apart from the power one.

I must say that the temp was checked after various hours or working, and you can\'t forget that we\'re in summer, hot here.

Do you think this is normal or there is any serious problem? Please, reply. I don\'t wanna boil my PC.

63 is hot but nothing deadly. Is your bios up to date? It might need an update to fix the temp reading. Other than that buy a decent HSF and some thermal paste and slap it on and you\'re fine.

he\'s using a 2.8gig barton..

You\'re cpu temp if fine. Alittle high, but nothing to worry about. If it gets over 75c, then i\'d worry.

Is that idle or maxed?  I know P4\'s max at around 70C.  I noticed my temp was running about 64C max\'d and idling in the high 40\'s to low 50\'s... I took the cover off to discover the idiot who put my processor on didn\'t secure both clamps on the heat sink.  Once I did that I idle at 34C and max around 43C.

I\'ve, like soul said, an AMD Athlon XP 2800 Barton. The Mobo is a nVidia nForce NL7.

The bios is configured to switch off the comp if reachs 75ºC.
