Mario Golf: Toadstool Tour
« on: August 10, 2003, 03:52:19 PM »
Has anybody picked up this gem yet? I did when it came out, last Friday I think..

It\'s awesome. It uses the basis of Mario Golf (N64, which was a fantastic game) and builds upon it with added gameplay depth and a variety of modes and courses, with plenty of characters to choose from.. each with distinct statistical strengths and weaknesses. Wicked polished, too.. with probably the best control scheme I\'ve seen for a golf game. The graphics are great for what they are.. running at 60fps with a little slowdown. The opening FMV is maybe the best I\'ve seen in a Nintendo game, but that\'s not saying much.  Sound effects are fitting, music is a little bit repetitive (think Mario Party) but still rather good. There\'s some nice classic Mario tunes being revisited here, like the SM64 castle theme. Between this and KOTOR, I\'ve been booked for weeks.

Anybody who has their doubts, go rent this one today! You can\'t go wrong!

it must be fun to play with friends in multiplayer mode.  I am not a big golf fan myself, but i remember some very funny nights playing Hot shot on PS with my buddies.

what i am awaiting now is mario tenis. i havent heard anything for it in a long time, but i am pretty sure this willl be the party/sport game to play on gamecube ;)
can\'t see why not!
