It\'s got a lot of spoilers for a trailer. A lot if you read the book and didn\'t want to see the visual imagery ahead of the movie.

56K modems generally wait for a really really really really really really really really really really really really really really long time. The only way they\'d melt or blow up is if the data was coming in so fast, it actually heats up the hardware. And unfortunatley, that\'s not possible. :( If only it were. :(
