Just happened like 30 minutes ago:
I flipped the switch to my kitchen on and heard a pop. One of those big giant 4 feet long lights just blew out. I remembered we had a spare in the garage, so I decided to take out the old one first. I took of one of the glass panels and laid it on our dining room table. I unhooked the lightbulb and wiggled it loose on the other side. It came to a thud, and I realised I\'d have to take the other one off to slid it through.
So I move my stool over and manuever it out. Suddenly this loud "Ksssh!" noise comes, and the next thing I know is my ass is on the ground. The lightbulb (remeber its like a lightsabre) fell and broke on one of the beams in the light fixture and the jagged edge just missed my face by inches. I have a little cut, right below my eye. After catching my breath and cleaning up the mess I go grab the new one. I take off the 3rd glass panel and try to move it down. I drop it and a 3 foot sheet of glass is laying at my feet.
Oy! I cleaned it up, and now the new lightbulb is working fine.
