Eclipse GSX vs M3 (video)

M3\'s are great machines. They stop all over eclipses, eventhough i do like gsx\'s just because they are AWD. Actually considered getting one. Chicago winters are a B****. That clip was hilarious. The first time you hear the car give puts a smile on my face.

I\'m sure someone wants to say it but I\'ll be the first, despite any thrashing I\'ll receive.

BMW M3: 13.2 sec in the 1/4 mile
Turboed Eclipse: 10-second cars when done right, 11 seconds easy.

The M3 is a kickass car but will lose to a lightweight,  AWD turboed Eclipse.

But um...  You say an eclipse is a 10 second car "When done right"

How is that fair?  You are going to go and mod the f%$k out of an eclipse, but not do a thing to the M3?

There are a ton of mods you can do to an M3.

In this case everyone\'s saying how the M3 isn\'t even trying.  According to the Eclipse driver he was.  Not sure how a race can be unfair if both parties are willing to go at it.  If you know what\'s what when it comes to cars you can\'t complain to the winner that if you had the same mods as them you would have won the race.  The other driver thinks "No sh*t, that\'s why mine is modded!"

The driver of the Eclipse put more time and money into the performance for his his car, therefore deserved to win the race.  As much as it hurts to say it the M3 is the slower car between the two.

Dude, the eclipse driver was a freaking moron.  Every shot of the M3 the driver didn\'t even look like he knew they existed.  I mean right off the line the car smoked the M3.  I don\'t think it would have been nearly that if at all if M3 dude even knew the car was there.

ANd the driver of the eclipse put more time and money into his car because he had to.  If you want to go fast with an eclipse you first have to mod the F out of it.

The M3 wasn\'t even moving, are you telling me that Eclipse was a 10 second car.  :rolleyes:

Man, I love cars and all but sometimes these guys I see just can\'t enough with mods and general cartalk. I think street racing and "car X is faster than car Y" conversations are so stupid. All I want is a nice flashy car, maybe crack the speed limit here and there. But what is the point of creating a race car to simply try and reach speeds that are ridiculously illegal?

Theirs modding a Japanese car with class, then theirs ricing a car out.  Two different things, you could beat that M3 for a 1/4 the price.

Dude in M3 never even looked at the Eclipse.  You see the M3 break off the line and the damn thing is barely rolling.  Put the video in an editor and watch it in slow mo.  It\'s a trip.
