N-Gage, near the end?

Reports are running rampant across the Internet that North American retailers have been pulling N-Gage hardware and software from shelves - which is encouraging rumors of the N-Gage becoming discontinued.

We contacted Nokia today, and they\'ve explained that the hardware and software is being redistributed to stores that they\'re selling better at, and that neither the systems nor software are going to be discontinued any time soon.

Rest easy, N-Gage fans!

15,000 people bought it in December, vs well over 2 million GBA\'s. Just discontinue it already, Nokia.

You know I have actually never seen an N-Gage in real life.  They are that elusive.

I\'ve seen them in real life.

It looks like a higher-tech standard GBA, with worse ergonomics and bad button placement.

Nokia was nice enough to send me two N-Gages and 7 games for review.  I described it as "neither a good game system nor a great cell phone."

Said the best bet would be to get a nice phone, a GBA and a pair of pants with pockets big enough for both.

It was a good first attempt, but for now it seems the way to go is to market a phone first and have games included as a feature, not the other way around.

And um, it sucked.

Heh, then Nokia had me send back all their shit.  If I were them I\'d want me to keep it with hopes someone else might see it and actually get one.

I\'ll conceived piece of shit, you actually have to remove the bloody back panel to change games over like one of those really irritating 3310\'s.

They expect people to pay over £300 ($550 USD) for one, damn, talk about cloud-cuckoo land.

Fu*k that! They\'re £150 over here in UK. Ever held one up to your ear to talk on it? Have two at the same time and you will look just like Mickey Mouse.

Yes, changing the game is a complete arsehole to do. Then you\'ve got the button layout which isn\'t really any good for games. The menu navigation is clumsy (taken from the 7650) and the phone is generally a piece of shit.

Good graphics though - way better than the GBA. Unfortunately, this can\'t save the system.

Also, most people want camera phones these days...

Didn\'t realise they\'d dropped the price, I lost interest straight after using one for a bit!
