Mitsubishi\'s own website lists the top speed as 157mph. Maybe the owner was on a track at the time they achieved 150mph. That wouldn\'t be against the law. Ah, but taking your car to a track almost immediately invalidates your warranty, even according to manufacturers like Porsche who sell primarily performance cars designed for the track...
This has nothing to do with "breaking the law." When is a car, designed as a performance car, driven like a performance car, without it being classified as "abuse?" Is it an economy car or a performance car?
I\'m sure many owners of economy cars abuse their vehicles much more frequently by running inappropriate tire pressures, not checking the oil, not warming up the engine approriately, etc. The only difference is that the manufacturer can CATCH the drivers of performance cars by checking the black box. The more common varieties of abuse are more invisible.
