I\'ve been told the reason it looks that way. Donno if its true but it sounds good to me.
That image of saturn was a "long exposure", something like 72 hours or more. That\'s why everything looks so smooth.

i didn\'t think i\'d have to explain it! sheesh! i used to live in the urban area of jersey..newark...Now with all the bright lights & POLLUTION you can\'t see any of the stars..when i would travel down south i/e north carolina you could see all the stars with your eye..even mars if you looked close enough..because of less lights & air pollution..there i explained it.

In order to get stars the camera would have to have an exposure FAR longer than what this one was. THe planet would be a ton brighter than a star so the planet would be blown out if you saw stars. Then you would definitely know it was fake.
