yes I know Core... but his snide remark about me being "Mr. Mod and keeping it on topic" was antagonistic when I clearly kept it on topic.  luckee needs to actually comprehend what he reads before he accuses people of doing something.

Seems like there is more to worry about than this but I have to agree that it\'s not surprising at all.

Does anyone know if there is a better company out there to do the job?

Yes there are other companies, but none as big - American anyway.  All the DoD did was sole source the contract out.  We do that all the time with consultants if we want a particular one.  Request For Proposals are a major pain in the ass and they take a while to process.

I dont know if they are better, but the larger Schlumberger
 is another company.

Probably left out b/c it is a "French" company.

There is also Baker Hughes and BJ Services(yes, thats real :laughing: )

Another thing that gets me is the fact that the US wanted help in Iraq, yet when it comes to making money,they want to grant no-bid contracts to an American company which  by chance the VP used to be a CEO.

Cheney and Bush stand to benefit greatly from this $1 billion plus contract.

This is why I doubt this isnt as cut and dry as "doing a buddy a favor"
