XP problem ; crash & reboot when cdwriting !?
« on: June 16, 2004, 10:22:16 PM »
Hi there,
Since a coupla days when I try to copy and write files to a cd-r i promptly get an error message that heheh an \'error\'  has occured and therefor xp can\'t write the files to the cd-r. Then i get the usual \'notify MS ?\' pop up and then the pc promptly shuts down and reboots (crash ? ) Is this a virus in xp or is it a device conflict in BIOS ; S-ata hd with RAID enabled setting in BIOS ? I recently updated BIOS using Asus\' EZ BIOS  flash.

So, could anybody please help :(

Well I am asking becuase I recently downloaded a few updates from MS which included some driver registries and Windows didnt support my old motorola modem ever since. It didnt work.It said that the modem wasnt tested with Microsoft Windows blah blah and it couldnt register with my modem model.
I tried to get it use some pre existing drivers in my computer and when I tried to connect with it my PC booted from the beginning as if I pushed the reset button on my computer.
So I bought another modem from creative which worked
