No, emo has been around for decades and only recently has it referred to the mainstream bands that have now been fit into the classification.

No my ass. YOU ARE DUMB. I never said how long its been around, i just said that the term emo was coined specifically for that genre. Got it? And this fashion of emo hasnt been around for that long either. If you can give me an example then ill admit that youre right. You are making up your own definition of emo. Emo reffers specifically to this type of music (like i had said before).
