this is funny..i guess sega\'s twenty dollar sports titles was keyin in on ea\'s profits...heh..probably because of espn nfl 2k5..which was light yrs ahead of madden this year...

PS2 MADDEN NFL 2005 $14,226,930       288,747

PS2 ESPN NFL 2K5 $3,956,769                203,101

XBX ESPN NFL 2K5 $2,481,845                128,226

XBX MADDEN NFL 2005 $5,091,888          102,886

Not sure if im reading it right but it looks like the cut didnt do jack-sh*t. If anything it hurt them. Im suprised madden was relatively close to espn on xbox since xbox had all the nifty crap to it. So i dont think this was in response to espn; more of the game being out a while and dropping the price like they do to the ps2 to get some extra sales. (which mightve derived from espn, but not to combat the price drop).

uhm i guess you didn\'t read the article...the price cut was in direct response to sega\'s price cut...EA laughed at sega when they announced they were cutting prices..low and behold sega started cuttin\' into there profits even if it was only slightly..i read in another article..just to sum things up that last yr madden outsold espn by a margin of 844% compared this yr to about 144%...that\'s a huge turn around for sega..yea EA still owns the sales but the gap has been cut considerbly....

hmm..guess i was. Even though it would make more sense if i was talking crap then he said that. I just read the stats and didnt care enough to read the article. For all i care the sales could turn around and id still buy madden after playing 2k5. But i will get espn for obviously trying a lot harder than EA.

edit: after losing again online in madden..i hate this god damn game..all people do is backpedal, playmaker, and throw it. Or do some glitch blitz since EA TRIED to make defense more fun, but of course the retards who play this game have to abuse everything and move people around so the audbiles and crap allows their D to get to the qb in .01 seconds. Offline on the other hand i like.

Damn I got so frustrated playing Madden online yesterday, I had Max Protect on for the punt and the ****er still blocked my punt, he went right past the blocker without the blocker even trying to get him.  He did this like twice and I said **** it and went for it on 4th everytime from then on.
