« on: November 26, 2004, 06:11:54 AM »
when the unit is  plugged in the light is on (red) because of the lack of power switch in the back

should i unplug my ps2 after use or will it go out automatically?

From the manual about switching ON and OFF PStwo console :

to ON
1. turn on your tv
2. set tv to the appropriate channel
3. plug in console to power - led should turn red
4. touch led button - led should turn from red to green

to OFF
1. push/hold green led button for more than one second - it should turn red which is stand by mode.
2. pull out powercord if you don\'t play for extended time

Personally, I always pull out power if I don\'t plan to play again within an hour.
I also recommend to get a power surge connectorbox - in stand by mode you\'ll have minimal risk of console damage if the house electricity shortcircuits.

My impressions on the new PStwo slimline ;

I got mine last wednesday. The exact model is SCPH-70004 CB. Here in the PAL region these units are very tough to get hold of. Demand > Supply, so I had to pre-order it.
Anway, the unit looks and feels great. It\'s quite hefty at 900 grams for such a small size console. The top lid works very well. You have to actually \'click\' the dvd onto the spindle. Very sturdy stuff.
Image quality output with the Euro AV RGB cable is superb. Disc acces is a bit more loud though. The fan sound is less loud.

I\'m a very happy customer :D

Also when storing for long periods of time you need to place it in a large plastic bag and then on the top shelve of the freezer..

I was wondering if the ps2 has a HDD and network adaptor in it already.  I would hate to have to get a new slim HDD if I wanted to get the new slim PS2

No, they don\'t. It also doesn\'t come with it built-in. The only thing that\'s built-in would be the Ethernet adaptor.

That\'s what made a lot of people mad. But they can just stick with their old PS2\'s. But if they already have an HDD, then why complain anyway?

I dunn curr, cuz I don\'t even want to bother with the time-consuming, life-sucking game that is Final Fantasy XI :shy:
