Notebooks
« on: January 26, 2005, 12:57:52 PM »
I am going to get a Notebook over the summer and have it fully loaded... any suggestions?  I am looking into HPs right now.  If possible, I want a smaller type of Laptop without losing any power.

My minimums are 1GB of memory (pref. 2GB), 120GB Harddrive, CD-RW/DVD 8x Burner, wireless card, 3 USB Ports, tv tuner abilities, 128MB Graphics Card.

If anyone knows where to find a good quality notebook with all of that, it would be of good help.  Right now I designed one at HP using there highest Pentium 4 processor and  basically highest everything in terms of hardware and it came out to 2,700.

My HP sucks...it doesn\'t have enough memory, 3 keys have already come off of it, not because of me...seriously.  Some HPs may be good, but mine is a sucky piece of crap.

If u want quality just grab an IBM Thinkpad.  I\'ve used many latptops and my bro\'s T51 always feels solid, fast, and reliable.  There are other options for pure gaming fun, I\'m sure others will chime in with those.

ps- pc forum would be better for this

emachines notebooks are bad ass Evi, they have a cult following behind them.  The 68xx line especially.  As I type, I\'m on a 6809 which plays HL2 on high everything but textures.

google the 68xx line if you don\'t believe me, they have some of the highest reviews and best build quality around.  True they used to be bottom dwellers, but they have turned around.

Yes they did. IBM is going to soley focus on chip/innards production for computers, consoles, etc. They\'re no longer going to be in the computer making business. The company they sold the division to will make computers...but not IBM. They\'re out for good. :(
