I wanted this to be good. The single player is light years behind N64 and PS2 wrestling games but it\'s bearable. The story mode is actually good, though once you beat it, you can\'t play it again.
You can\'t earn upgrades unless you create a profile. I was more than halfway through story mode before I realized I wasn\'t earning anything to upgrade my guy or unlock things.
Then I signed online and it erased the two created guys I made. So I made a new one but online leaves out entrances and created character names so it takes 2/3 of the personality away.
Then the games lag to hell. There\'s slow down in one-player but online it\'s slow motion. Anything but singles matches are terrible because of lag. I just had a one-on-one match that suffered from the same fate, though. Plus online the game removes the cues for when to counter so one player can dominate the entire match in an agonizing fit of slow motion, the sound cutting in and out on one-second-intervals and the graphics moving at probably 2 frames per second.
Win or lose, I get kicked off of Xbox Live after each fight. I can never rematch the guy I just played.
This game sucks.
I have to tell my friend not to get it. We were going to make and defend tag belts online, but I dread the thought of four people at once.
Never mind you have to somehow build a belts prestige before you defend it, and if you even figure out how to do all that, you\'re probably sick of the online multiplayer anyway.
But at least in one-player you can use custom songs for entrance music.
I made Mario and he came out to the Mario theme. But then the game erased my characters so I never got to see it.
Lovely.
