Analog or digital? Either way get a SLR. For analog I have no idea, probably a Canon EOS something or a Nikon.

For digital, a great though-not-too-damn-expensive SLR is Canon\'s 350d (Digital Rebel in your part of the world). Or Nikon D50/D70 if you\'re so inclined.
