I\'m sorry if this is rocket science to you, let me break it down.
1: The base controller is not really functional for most games. Nintendo knows this - so what do they do? They add NGC ports to it and they also allow add-on controllers to hook up to it. What is the point of making a controller that is not functional all around? There isn\'t! It\'s a cheap way to get more money out of the consumer....Hey - want to play a racing game and enjoy it? Buy our stupid steering wheel add-on, that does nothing but make it abit more comfortable for playing style (due to the fact that the core controller is the motion sensor!).
Let\'s not mention that this controller will KILL third party development. Need proof? Ever since the N64 design, Nintendo has had problems with third party games using the controllers to their fullest extent. It happened with the N64 and it\'s \'C\' buttons, the NGC it was due to lack of buttons and now this..Well, this presents so many problems for the third party developers that it is sad.
You didnt get the irony in my post as usual.
Too bad.
I ll say two words: Opportunity cost.
The consumer will pay only a few extra bucks ONLY IF he wants too for only a few games on a console that as a total will be cheaper and offer a whole new gaming experience.
These add-ons arent necessary. The only thing most gamers will probably feel like needing is this:

And this may be included with the hardware too.
You didnt need a light gun to play Time Crisis or House of the Dead on previous consoles and you didnt need a steering wheel to play racing games. But if you wanted to enjoy these games fully you had to pay MORE for a lightgun or a steering wheel.
This time around you will pay a lot less ONLY IF YOU WANT TO for a piece that will take less room and give the same enjoyment (and who knows even more enjoyment) the bigger accessories offered with more money.
Your typical logic is largely flawed.
The real deal is this:
The consumer is paying less as a total for a different gaming experience other consoles wont be offering as well as paying less for the same experience the other consoles will be offering.
The revolution is generally a more affordable and cheaper console that offers great gaming oportunities.
So generally it wont cost much for the consumer.Actually the consumer may find the Revolution more attractive because of its affordability and different experience. And that with a huge difference.
All you do is bitch.
You complained how "unoriginal gaming" is with lack of new ideas and now you complain because the Revolution\'s main controller isnt good for stereotyped, unoriginal, rehashed games? Jesus!
Since it might offer original gaming experience and at the same time a solution for your second complain there is no excuse in your bitching.
That one "add-on" will cost less to pay
with the Revolution than a brand new PS3/XBOX360 with only one controller that will ofer an evolution instead of something different.
Oh oh the revolution will also offer tons of games to download for
FREEBut I know what you need. You dont need videogames.
You need some bitch slapping on the face.
That will bring you back to your senses.
Guaranteed!
AND FOR FREE!
