Video Card Help
« on: October 04, 2005, 07:43:09 PM »
Someone tech savvy save me, please.

I have a Geforcefx5200, apparently I am able to apply my desktop to a TV.

The TV next to comp is fairly old, having only white/yellow/red, but thats hooked up to a DVD player, which has the required S-video cable.

How would I go around setting this up?

At least, will it even work through the DVD player?

Does anyone else do this TV display- and how is it?
Think for yourself. Question authority.

Depends on the player.  If the input of the player is S-Video and it will convert that signal, then it will work; however, sometimes companies get lazy and make electronics without converters (ie, the S-vid in goes only to s-vid out).  Just give it a try, in all likely hood it will work.

If you installed the drivers that came with your card, it is usually pretty easy to either switch between monitors, make the TV a clone, or make the TV a second desktop - keep in mind that if it\'s a regular TV you will be in 800x600 or 640x480 without stretching/compressing things.
