controller problems, help wanted!
« on: January 09, 2006, 05:47:24 AM »
Hi,

I\'ve got Gran Turismo 4 but my left arm is paralysed so I need to use my right hand only to play it. I\'ve remapped the steering onto the right stick and use the r1/r2 buttons for accellerate/brake.

Even though I\'ve remapped the accellerator/brake onto the r1/r2 buttons the right analogue stick up/down still works as accelleraor/brake and I want to stop this.

I believe this is a well known thing with GT4. I\'m finding with the more powerful cars that I\'ll often accidentally accellerate or brake slightly whilst trying to steer with the right stick screwing up an otherwise decent lap.

One idea I\'ve had is to modify a dualshock2 to disable the y-axis of the right analogue stick to use just with GT4, does anyone know where I can find any info or advice about doing this?

Alternatively are there any adaptors etc that allow you to turn off the y-axis on the right stick or to just swap the functions of the right & left sticks (that would do the trick!).

Lastly are there any other solutions I\'ve not thought of? (I dont want a steering wheel, they\'re too big for my flat!)

Thanks,

Ken Taylor

I don\'t know if there\'s anything in here that will help, but it turns out another forum member had almost the same problem. But Fred was into the steering wheel option...
