a nuclear bomb is a little different than a piece of rock. And it\'d be more than just one big asteroid. Itd be a bunch of bombs screwing up the enviornment for more than just humans. itll be a fucked up place if a bunch of nukes went off

The ones that have hit us, while huge, arent that big. But the odds of a huge one that can clear the earth is improbable. At most, the best that i think would happen is something similar to the dinosaurs. Something hits and kills the most dominant species (mammals) and something else will survive the impact and evolve into the main species.

i\'ve always been interested in space exploration...even if at this point it\'s virtually useless...in my youth i always would be scared that a black hole would engulf the earth. The earth will die a nuclear death first before some asteroid destroys it....as soon as some poor third world country gets a nuke, well either them or somebody from the middle east, i don\'t think they hesitate to use it...as far as humans go tho, i do think it\'s amazing what they are capable to do and some of the feats they are performing...*thinks of those photos from mars, space walks on the space station* that is really some amazing stuff

I highly doubt we will ever destroy all life on this planet. Sure, maybe a lot of countries will be wiped of the face of the earth, but there will very likely be places that remain relatively unaffected. For instance the place that shoots the last missile

I wasn\'t refuting the fact that asteroids helped. What I gathered was that you were saying teh earth formed from just bombarding asteroids.

Please. Raping Brits and Europeans....the offsprings later went to America and colonized. Then years later, their offspring went to space. Hell, NASA even named one of their missions to Mars, The Viking Space Mission.
