Unwarranted.  You take a kid with anti-social tendencies and then you expell him you are only going to harbor animosity.  Should have brought him to a counselor and have been done with it.  If he was being a douche bag then he was being a douche bag, i\'m fairly certain that isn\'t a crime as I see plenty of them walking the streets on a daily basis.

I understand your view, especially since you are more or less restating what the supreme court has ruled.  I\'m not arguing what the law states, i\'m arguing that the current interpretation of the law is off.
Wrong. There are two other people who can.

its not so much that want to lock everyone up who writes something like this just because i pointed out that everyone would regret it if he shoots up the school. but all you would hear was "if we took it seriously...." just like what happened with the VT kid.

I honestly do still have a very gray line between freedom and saftey, but read the last half of my last post
There are few silent killers and too many big talkers who remain on words.

Which should you put to jail?

edit: in case you havent noticed people who are planning to kill others dont speak loudly their intentions. Usually they might leave a message atleast AFTER they kill

ones you have enough evidence against to justify it as a legitimate threat. Obviously, this wouldn\'t stop everything since people slip by all the time, but like soully said, these things are unavoidable. Theres no way to stop every single threat and know which ones are real and which are fake, or even catch the signs of a silent killer like you pointed out.

the best i think we can do is try our best to catch things before it happens, and finding ways to get as few people killed as possible when something happens.

I agree.

But I have to point out that arresting so easilly people will mostly harm innocent civilians who were put to jail for something they werent going to do or they didnt do without improving safety against the real killers

I would put him on probation and make him go through some sort of psychiatric care for several months at least.

Jail wouldn\'t do a damn thing, but I agree he is a dumbshit that probably needs a good ass kicking.  Why in the HELL would you write something like that in school and actually turn it in to be graded!?  School is a place not only to learn, but to instill discipline.  If you show anti-social behavior then you need to be taken aside period.
