Alright, I have the option of buying a new videocard..I can do one of three things..
1: Buy another x1950 Pro and Crossfire. Already have one - but someone wants to buy it for $75. I paid $140, but it\'s used and I threw away the box. Still, that\'s $75 bucks. And it does struggle at 1680x1050 resolutions on some games.
2: Buy a 512 meg 2900XT . I have a Crossfire motherboard, so I could
maybe eventually buy another and Crossfire (but from my understanding, Crossfire support is really hit or miss).
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E168141210733: Buy a 8800 Ultra. Run one. 768 meg.
http://www.newegg.com/product/product.asp?item=N82E16814127288Of course, I can only run one - and its another $200 bucks.
Should be noted also, that if I get the 2900 that leaves me money to pick up another gig of RAM and Vista Ultimate 64 at the same time. Alos the 2900 comes with \'Black Box\' and S.T.A.L.K.E.R, both things I wanted to pick up eventually.
If I get the 8800Ultra, I will get another gig of RAM and then have to wait another two weeks and pick up Vista Ultimate 64.
And if I do 2900XT CrossFire situation, I will most likely have to get a new PSU
Help!
I was leaning towards the 2900, due to price , but at the same time, some benchmarks I have read have the 8800 ultra out performing it quite abit. Not to mention, it is pretty much top dog on the videocard department. I figure, if I am gonna spend almost $500, why not pay the extra and get the best?
