I want my HDTV!!!!

I\'m starting to tuck a little away here and there for a new TV. Prolly around 36" - 42" Any suggestions on a nice set?

I\'ll primarily be using it for the PS3.

I\'ve looked at all kinds of HDTV\'s on normal tv/movies, but only LCD (which i ended up buying) for games.

But from other people\'s opinions, the majority seems to be that LCD looks the best with games, but others like plasma still look pretty much just as good.

My problem with my LCD is the ghosting: when a bright object is on the screen, and it goes straight to a black screen, the ghosting of the image stays on the screen. I dont regret buying it because i got a good deal, plus at this time in life im probably going to be moving a lot, so i needed something easy to move around.

If moving around isnt a problem, i\'d probably recommend DLP. The performance is better while the size is it\'s downside/ LCD performance takes more of the hit than its practicality. I really dont like plasma, the picture never looked quite as sharp and there\'s rarely any rooms with no light going in, and that light always reflects off the plexi (sp?) glass that\'s in front of the screen and annoys me

What i did was went to circuit city/frys/etc and just looked at them all. The one that looked the best/was affordable I got. I made LCD sound bad with the ghosting, but i found the picture itself to be just as good as the other ones that were 300 bucks more. Plus games look amazing on it.

Well, HDTV just refers to the definition of the TV.

LCD, DLP, Plasma, etc. are all different types of TV\'s that can be (and usually are) made in an HD format.

I just got my first HDTV myself about a month ago.  I went with an LCD.  No motion blur or ghosting problems for me.  It\'s 42", and I\'m really enjoying it so far.

At the size you\'re looking at, I wouldn\'t recommend looking at plasma.

Also, I\'d recommend going with 1080p if you can afford it.  If you\'re looking to hook your PS3 to it, that just makes sense.

Definitely put a lot of time looking at each tv.  Personally, I can\'t stand 99% of the LCD tvs because of motion blur.  The new 120hz models combat it but still aren\'t perfect.  That\'s why I tend to lean towards plasmas.  Then again some people don\'t notice it as much so that\'s why you gotta check for yourself.

Motion blur was what I was really worried about in an LCD. I spent time looking for one where I couldn\'t tell.  Some of the newer name brand TV\'s look pretty good in that respect to me.  Just if you\'re gonna go with an LCD and are bothered by that stuff, you can\'t go cheap.

The Panasonic PZ700 series plasma is what strongly I\'m considering next. Second to that is Sony\'s Bravia XBR and Sharp\'s newest Aquous sets.

Here\'s a real stupid question for you: Are plasmas and LCDs subject to the same electro magnetic interference from unshielded speakers as CRTs?

Sweet. My buddy actually can order some nice LCD\'s at wholesale cost. I made his website for him. In return, he built me a killer PC. I may hit him up for some more work for trade :P

He has a 50" to finish off his 4 monitor setup. Its Plasma, and I wasnt as impressed with it as much as the 36" LCD.

The TV im getting will mainly be for gaming, so I may actually stick with LCD.
