i beleive gamespot gave a shitty review which was contrary to everyone else just to gain more traffic.

gamespot turned from shit to steaming shit when they changed to the .5 system. all games are rated the same now..majority of the shitty ones (simpsons) are rated 7.0, the great ones are 9.5, etc. All those games rated the same are definitly worse/better than eachother.

To me, it\'s all about what the majority of people are saying and gametrailers..that is before trying it myself and making a final decision.

If I was to review any of the R&C series, I\'d give it an average or low score, as I haven\'t cared for a single one of them.  Just because the majority like the game, does not mean that every single reviewer must like it.

Do you think all these opinions are the same ? Do you think the real value of a student, of a game, etc can be so questionable ? And If I say GT series is crap \'cause there is no damage on cars and it deserves a 7.0, this is still an opinion ? And how much personal taste can affect a review ? If I don\'t like so much FPS and I\'m bored of all these similar shooters, it\'s still "my reliable  opinion" if I give 7.5 to a very very good shooter when all the other reviewers give it a 9.0 - 9.5 - 9.7 ?

Personal taste can affect a review and it should. Why? Because humans review these games. The same can be said for any media, it all boils down to personal taste. The only big deal is the fact that when a semi-negative review rolls around, everyone wants to make up excuses for it, as opposed to saying, "oh, I guess he just didn\'t like it".  Hell, if every reviewer said the same thing, then why even bother reading more than one? I know there are some reviewers, that have similar taste as I, and I tend to read and go by their reviews.

Oh and the GT is crap, I.M.O.

Value of a game is based on ones own personal taste therefore some strangers review of the game is completely pointless.  There are plenty of games that got mediocre reviews that I thought were a complete blast and I\'m certainly glad I diddn\'t take some journalists point of view as my own.  On the flip side, I got bored with GT4 after a day.

There are demos for a reason.

And the teacher that says the student is bad, which by the way is a terrible analogy, probably caught the student doing something incredibly stupid and has every right to think he\'s a shitty student.

Ok, I\'ve managed to clear a few plants. Simple review without the cuntiness : Aw ma gawd. Its so much fun, looks amazing, runs amazing, so many new usefull weapons. Zephyr (the robot form of Breakbox threeshitty) and Cronk (the robot form of AwesomeStation 3) are good fun, poking at each other all the time (Cronk dissing how Zephyr breaks down all the time, Zephyr making fun of Cronk having all that storage capacity filled with garbage etc)

Actually it is quite apparent you didn\'t get my point.  There is no doubt that since the majority of the reviewers and customers seem to be overwhelmingly happy with the game that I would probably enjoy it and think its a great game.  But who knows, maybe I share the same mindset as the people that gave it average reviews, I don\'t really know.  Reviews are pointless because you don\'t know the motivating factors behind the review and you don\'t know that persons personal taste.  

In other words you can\'t objectively rate a video game on an arbitrary scale because the qualities of game that give it its value is inherently subjective.

Lemme say this: I DO NOT LIKE FIRST PERSON SHOOTERS.

However, since I got the PS3 and Resistance was about the only good game available, I tried it. I LOVED IT! But that is the last FPS I\'ll ever buy because now I have more choices. So, if I was to rate a few games that weren\'t my taste, I think I would still be quite objective regardless of my gaming preference and prejudices.

Objectivity is hard to find from reviewers these days especially since a lot of them are panning anyting about PS3.
