Factory worker found dead under pile of peanuts

SOUTHAMPTON COUNTY

A worker at a peanut factory was found dead beneath a pile of peanuts on Tuesday afternoon.

The Southampton County Sheriff\'s Department has not yet released the name of the man, who worked at the Severn Peanut Company in Newsoms, Va.

The man\'s co-workers noticed him missing around noon on Tuesday. After searching for about two hours, they found him buried under a large pile of peanuts. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

The case is under investigation, and a spokesman for the sheriff\'s department said it was unclear how the man ended up under the pile of peanuts.
